چکیده

Abstract Background Stem rust caused by Puccinia triticina Erikss is one of the most devastating fungal foliar diseases, and causes substantial yield losses to wheat crops cultivated under field conditions. This study aimed evaluate efficacy plant extract-based sprays for with carnation, ginger cinnamon on severity stem infection three cultivars conditions two consecutive winter seasons (2020/21 2021/22). Results In both our data showed that all treatments were associated some degree disease suppression recorded as a range 2.3–8.6% compared 15.3–24.5% in untreated control treatment. The extract treatment was more effective than Amistar, commercial fungicide. They as: scores ranged between 2.3 3.2%; 3.0–4.5%, 3.0–6% cvs . Giza 1, Misr 2, Sids 14, respective order. Meanwhile, 4.1, 7.5, 8.6% at fungicidal Spaying plants carnation lowest prevalence followed extract, respectively. Increased grain reduced severity. Conclusions present investigation demonstrated using extracts against diseases it suggested they may be an alternative traditional chemical

Wheat leaf rust caused by Puccinia triticina.

UNLABELLED Leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina, is the most common rust disease of wheat. The fungus is an obligate parasite capable of producing infectious urediniospores as long as infected leaf tissue remains alive. Urediniospores can be wind-disseminated and infect host plants hundreds of kilometres from their source plant, which can result in wheat leaf rust epidemics on a continental ...

Proteome analysis of wheat leaf rust fungus, Puccinia triticina, infection structures enriched for haustoria.

Puccinia triticina (Pt) is a representative of several cereal-infecting rust fungal pathogens of major economic importance world wide. Upon entry through leaf stomata, these fungi establish intracellular haustoria, crucial feeding structures. We report the first proteome of infection structures from parasitized wheat leaves, enriched for haustoria through filtration and sucrose density centrifu...

Draft Genome of the Wheat Rust Pathogen (Puccinia triticina) Unravels Genome-Wide Structural Variations during Evolution

Leaf rust is one of the most important diseases of wheat and is caused by Puccinia triticina, a highly variable rust pathogen prevalent worldwide. Decoding the genome of this pathogen will help in unraveling the molecular basis of its evolution and in the identification of genes responsible for its various biological functions. We generated high quality draft genome sequences (approximately 100...

Virulence and Molecular Polymorphism in International Collections of the Wheat Leaf Rust Fungus Puccinia triticina.

ABSTRACT Collections of Puccinia triticina, the wheat leaf rust fungus, were obtained from Great Britain, Slovakia, Israel, Germany, Australia, Italy, Spain, Hungary, South Africa, Uruguay, New Zealand, Brazil, Pakistan, Nepal, and eastern and western Canada. All single-uredinial isolates derived from the collections were tested for virulence polymorphism on 22 Thatcher wheat lines that are nea...

Generation of a wheat leaf rust, Puccinia triticina, EST database from stage-specific cDNA libraries.

SUMMARY Thirteen cDNA libraries constructed from small amounts of leaf rust mRNA using optimized methods served as the source for the generation of 25 558 high-quality DNA sequence reads. Five life-cycle stages were sampled: resting urediniospores, urediniospores germinated over water or plant extract, compatible, interactive stages during appressorium or haustorium formation just before sporul...
